Because every tail deserves a happy ending…

A Wonderful Month of Happy Homings

Possibly the best part of everything we do at the SPCA is our Happy Homings.

To see the joy on the faces of the new families and the sheer delight of the animals they adopt makes all the blood, sweat and tears worthwhile.

Many of the animals who come through our doors have been rescued from situations of such diabolical cruelty it is hard to imagine.

Others have endured traumas such as abandonment, bereavement from a deceased and beloved owner, getting lost and finding themselves stray… their hearts beat as ours and they feel emotions just as deeply.

A Lovely Letter From Sam

(Previously known as “Mike”)

Letters like the one received below are so heart-warming. We are always so happy to receive updates and news from adopters.

Dear Siyabonga,

Mike’s original SPCA Adoption Profile. He is now known as “Sam”.

Persephone

Another lovely letter of a Happy E-fur After!

Hello SPCA

My husband, Nur Roberts, adopted a kitty from the Grassy Park SPCA in October 2016.

At the time, Persephone, Sephy for short, was 6 months old, it has been almost 6 years later and we are so happy that she has joined our family 🙂

Unfortunately, upon your visit, none of us were home. Below are some pictures of Sephy, along with her fur sibling, Titan.

Thank you so much, SPCA 🙂

Sending you warm Blessings,

Aqilah and Nur

Marbles

Marbles was surrendered by her previous owners as they had too many cats on the property. This beautiful little kitty is now living her best life with her new family!

Sheila

The smiles on both their faces tell the whole story about their joy of this moment, and reflect our feelings too. Sheila has waited so long for this happy day, when she goes home to find her happy e-fur after!

A Toddler’s Best Friend

These photographs of Mocha and her new little hoomin “sister” are so precious. See the start of a beautiful friendship and a bond which is so strong already!

A note with the photos from her family:

Hi Nicole,
Hope you are well. We have not (yet) shared photos of our little precious Mocha (Petra when we adopted her in March 2022). She is an absolute gem 😍

Thank you for letting us have her.
Best wishes,
Romijn, Marius and Adalee

Mouse

“Mouse is the sweetest most gentle cat we’ve ever had the opportunity to experience and he gets along so well with my other cat Bibbles. We have renamed him Abu short for Abubakr, we think it really suits him. They love sleeping and playing together, he also loves to hide away from us until we panic but we love him so much.  Abu just fits so well into the family and with Bibbles. We love him to bits.”

Thank you to all our adopters and if anyone is ready to welcome a new pet into their hearts and homes, please do give us a call on 0217004152 or email at adoptions@spca-ct.co.za
