Because every tail deserves a happy ending…

Festive Happy Homings

Possibly the best part of everything we do at the SPCA is our Happy Homings.

To see the joy on the faces of the new families and the sheer delight of the animals they adopt makes all the blood, sweat and tears worthwhile.

Many of the animals who come through our doors have been rescued from situations of such diabolical cruelty it is hard to imagine.

Others have endured traumas such as abandonment, bereavement from a deceased and beloved owner, getting lost and finding themselves stray… their hearts beat as ours and they feel emotions just as deeply.

Bimbo goes home

Bimbo

This beautiful doggie was a recent tail docking case at the SPCA, and what a happy ending this story has!

A Law Enforcement officer who assisted with the case experienced love at first sight, then came in with the whole family and everyone fell in love with Bimbo too!

Read Bimbo’s story:

The practice of amputating a dog’s tail for purely cosmetic reasons – called tail docking is considered to be a cruel and illegal practice.

Kenya

Gorgeous Springer Spaniel Kenya is enjoying all kinds of fun in her new home!

She is happy with her spaniel brother and senior sister. She’s settled in very well and is “a special girl” who gets lots of cuddles and playtime!

Bella

They were so in love! The adoption process took about 3 days. The home check was done and her new family came the same day to fetch Bella!

Tessa

Tremendous Tessa is a sassy sweetheart.  This 6 year-old collie mix will be celebrating the festive season with her new family.

Moss

Moss came into the SPCA as a 10-week-old puppy in September and has finally found his fur-ever home, just in time for his first Christmas!

Sadie, Cleo and Zoey

These three had barely arrived at the SPCA when new mommy, who knew the three dogs that came in together, came in to view them.

She didn’t think twice to adopt all three immediately!

Tazz

Tazz the labrador was handed in by her previous family as they were concerned for her welfare and safety.

She was spotted by her new family online and now lives on a farm far away from the stress and noise of city life.

She is a happy girl and much loved already.
