Because every tail deserves a happy ending…

Furever Grateful: April’s Adoptions Bring Smiles and Wagging Tails

Possibly the best part of everything we do at the SPCA is our Happy Homings.

To see the joy on the faces of the new families and the sheer delight of the animals they adopt makes all the blood, sweat and tears worthwhile.

Many of the animals who come through our doors have been rescued from situations of such diabolical cruelty it is hard to imagine.

Others have endured traumas such as abandonment, bereavement from a deceased and beloved owner, getting lost and finding themselves stray… their hearts beat as ours and they feel emotions just as deeply.

Reading progress

Rexi

This sweet and playful dog stole the hearts of his new family when he was adopted just last month. His lovable personality and boundless energy make him a joy to be around, and he’s always up for a good play session or cuddle. These photos capture just a few of the many precious moments with Rexi, as he settles into hisnew home and becomes a beloved member of the family.

Dice

The smile and the love on Dice’s new mommy’s face tell the whole story!

Peanut

Easily one of the cutest little buttons to have passed through our doors, Peanut’s adopted mommy is as proud as punch!

Guinness

He can hardly contain his excitement as he heads off to his forever home with his new mom.

Chubbs the Pup Update

The happiest good boy at home..

Pumpkin

(previously Shirley)

Her adoring new cat mommy wrote to say: “Pumpkin is an absolute delight. She’s curious, playful and her verocious kitty headbutts are legendary. When she’s not lounging in the sun, she enjoys making kitty biscuits, climbing cupboards, drinking water from the basin and chasing our border collie Jenna. She loves with all her kitty heart and I enjoy nothing more than snuggling next to her and listening to her purr. She is so loved and we are thankful to have her in our lives.”

Captain

Dave

Bonnie & Clyde

Off to a happy new start together, their story continues…

Hannah

Adopted last month, this blue-eyed girl has landed in the lap of luxury!

Dad Thomas says, “Hannah is doing very well. I heard her bark for the first time yesterday evening when I locked the door of the house.

She follows me everywhere, which I don’t mind.

She loves the garden and has “marked” her territory several times.

She always eats all her food.

She always lays next to me day and night.

I have 3 mattresses for her in different rooms of the house.

She is inside the house with me most of the time.

We regularly take a break and go outside to the garden together.

She loves her nature reserve walk and has had no problems with people or dogs passing us.

She is very behaved in the car and can easily be taken for a drive in the car.

She also loves her treats.”

This lucky little girl is already spoiled rotten and loving every moment of living her best life!

Millie

Greetings from the Netherlands!

Reinier sent an email with photos telling us all about Millie’s travels…

We thought we would send you some pictures of Millie, adopted in February last year from you guys after you rescued her from a puppy mill in Mitchells Plain.

She is the love of our lives and was sent to us from a higher power.

We have since emigrated to the Netherlands a month ago and obviously, Millie joined us on this journey. So here are a few pictures of her travelling Europe with us. You can also follow her on Instagram @millieoftheplainWe just want to thank you again for entrusting us with Millie, but most of all, for saving her for us as she is the piece we were missing in our lives.Thank you guys, we appreciate and respect the difficult work that you do daily.”

“She has seen and loved her first snow, we have a video of her chasing the snowflakes.”
