Two guinea pigs were recently surrendered to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, one named Hopper, because she only has three little legs, and one named Rubi.
We happily re-homed Hopper and Rubi with a wonderful and loving family in Noordhoek. Seen here is 10-year-old Maya, who was thrilled to have the guineas join their family.
These two beauties were surrendered to the SPCA due to neglect and we are not sure what happened to Hopper’s leg, but we are certain, this trio will experience many happy and loving adventures moving forward!
Caring for Guinea Pigs is costly and will take up a lot of your time to clean, care and feed them. Unless you can keep two or more Guinea pigs, provide them with a large safe living space, provide them with the best quality vegetables, fruit and hay, and stick to a strict feeding/dietary plan, it would be advisable not to keep them as pets. We are grateful to Maya and her family for providing the best home Hopper and Rubi could ask for.
