Because every tail deserves a happy ending…

January Happy Homings: A Pawsome Start to 2025!

Possibly the best part of everything we do at the SPCA is our Happy Homings.

To see the joy on the faces of the new families and the sheer delight of the animals they adopt makes all the blood, sweat and tears worthwhile.

Many of the animals who come through our doors have been rescued from situations of such diabolical cruelty it is hard to imagine.

Others have endured traumas such as abandonment, bereavement from a deceased and beloved owner, getting lost and finding themselves stray… their hearts beat as ours and they feel emotions just as deeply.

Reading progress

The first month of the year has been filled with heartwarming reunions and fresh beginnings at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA Adoptions Centre!

Thanks to your continued kindness and support, so many wonderful animals have found their perfect fur-ever homes.

From playful pups to snuggly kitties, every adoption is a reminder that love knows no bounds and second chances change lives.

We found LOVE, thanks to you!

“Hi, friends! It’s us—Angelica, Benny, Chocka, Kiah, Quac, Rocky, Theodore, and Timothy!”

When we arrived at the SPCA, we were unsure of what the future held. But thanks to your shares, donations, and kind hearts, we’ve all found our fur-ever homes.  You gave us a chance to meet families who adore us, and for that, we’ll always be grateful.

Benny loves his daily runs in the park, Angelica has claimed the coziest spot on the couch, and Chocka has discovered the joy of endless belly rubs. Kiah is thriving in her new garden, while Quac and Rocky have become the ultimate playtime buddies with their new families.

Handsome Chocka embraces his dream life

Handsome Chocka has embraced his dream life, complete with daily beach walks and lazy couch cuddles.

His new family says he’s the happiest boy, and they couldn’t love him more.

The Amazing Santana Family

In the first week of January the wonderful Santana Family took sweet Bennie home…

A week later they returned to our Adoptions Centre to give darling Deliiah her fur-ever home as well!

Thank you, Santana Family! We appreciate you.

Adored Theodore

Theodore’s new family shared,

“We are mad about him. Thank you so much for everything you do at SPCA.”

Dear Timothy has settled in beautifully with his matching sibling!

“Hi everyone, it’s us—Clark, Daisy and Hyacinth, Delilah, Frankie, Freya, Geoff, George, James Bond, Joline, Lax, Marsh, Mallow, Minion, Miriam, Nacho, Nutmeg, Ozzy, Peach, Plum, Shaggy, Sugar, Ted, Twinkle (now Bella), and Worsie! We’re wagging tails, purring hearts, and bouncing paws into 2025, all thanks to YOU!”

Because of your kindness, shares, and support, so many of us started the new year surrounded by love in our forever families. From shy beginnings at the SPCA to joyful moments in our new homes, you made our dreams come true.

Clark is growing up with his new best friends, Daisy and Hyacinth have found the purrfect home together, and Delilah is thriving with her doting family. Frankie and Marsh are chasing toys and snuggling in their new spaces, while Freya has become the queen of her household. Geoff and Peach are charming everyone with their puppy antics, Plum is learning the ropes of family life, and Ozzy has secured his sunny windowsill.

George’s family writes:

“Hoping you haven’t forgotten George, our adopted Yorkie in late August. He was quiet at first, but by the third day, he’d gotten into the rhythm of things—even keeping us on schedule for food, snacks, and walks! George has lots of character and shares his heart with all of us. He gets along wonderfully with our other dog, and we’re so pleased to have him as part of our family. Thank you, SPCA!”

A Heartfelt THANK YOU from us!

“Hi friends, it’s us—Rosalind, Bentley, Chevy, Charlotte, Dee Dee, Rex, and Wednesday! We’re wagging tails, purring contentedly, and howling with joy because of YOU. Thanks to your shares, love, and support, we’ve all found our fur-ever homes.

Rosalind the cat is settling in beautifully. She’s claimed a cosy spot on the couch by the window, where she loves watching the world go by. Her new mum is introducing her to feline roommate Penny, and while there’s some initial suspicion, they’re taking the right steps to become friends.

Bentley and Chevy, our adorable sausage dog duo, sent us a special New Year’s message:

“Blessed New Year, SPCA! Love Bentley & Chevy ❤”

Their family tells us they’re loving life together and bringing so much joy to their home.

Charlotte the sheepdog is thriving in her new family, where she has plenty of space to run, and play. Her new family is amazed by her intelligence and sweet nature.

Dee Dee, our bubbly and affectionate girl, has quickly become the centre of attention in her new household. She’s always up for playtime and cuddles, and her family can’t imagine life without her.

Rex, the majestic German Shepherd, has found his perfect match. His new home provides him with plenty of outdoor adventures and all the love he deserves.

And finally, Wednesday, our quirky and lovable pup, is bringing endless laughter and smiles to her new family. She’s embracing every moment of her new life, from long walks to snuggling up at bedtime.

Heartwarming Updates:

Mary shared:

“Hello! I hope everyone at the SPCA is doing well! I am sending a quick email and some pics on behalf of my mother-in-law Marian who adopted Josie in December (Marian does not use email herself). Josie is the heart and soul of the house! Playful with toys, a calm cute couch potato during TV times, and lovingly nicknamed “the Commandant” during her trips to gallop at the field, where she likes to boss the older bigger dogs around to make them chase her. She is an absolute joy and loved so much. I have never seen Marian smile so much as she has since Josie came home, and she now signs all her whatsapp messages ending in, “with love from the two of us” and a little dog icon at the end. Thank you SO MUCH for everything that SPCA does – we appreciate you so much.”

And last, but certainly not least:

“Lily (was Sophia when we adopted her) loves play time at the park and also falls asleep with her favorite toy.”
