With the sunshine and warm winter weather, here is another way to warm your heart! Our Happy Tails are always so exciting.
This past week we said a happy goodbye to many of our SPCA friends
We had so many wonderful adoptions, that it was difficult to pick just one to highlight.
These past few days have been filled with emotion as some of our overlooked dogs found the most fabulous homes!
Our emotional post goes to a chance meeting in the Adoption reception one afternoon…
Turbo (a.k.a. Rover the canal dog) came to visit us and show us all how well he is doing. At the same time Inspector Siya, who had actually rescued Turbo happened to be in the reception at the moment he came in. Siya had never met Turbo’s new family, and the family had never met the wonderful Inspector Siya.
The tears were flowing as emotional Inspector Siya recounted how difficult the rescue had been, and how amazed he was to see how happy and loved Turbo now is. Turbo’s family will be celebrating their one-year adoption soon and we know this will be a huge celebration for sweet Turbo.
This is one of the most loved dogs we have ever seen and a true testament to the many departments that encompass the work of the SPCA as a whole.
From the Inspectors, to the Hospital and to end with him walking out of the Adoption Centre to his new forever home!
Krissy, Tony and Milo
Krissy and Tony were in adoptions for a while and were often overlooked.
Krissy had been found as a stray and Tony was brought in by our Inspectors, as his “owners” had not sought medical treatment for his two broken legs. Once healed, he was in Adoptions and week in, week out, visitors would just walk past his kennel.
At last, along came the most wonderful home! Looking for multiple dogs for his farm, he gave us a list of dogs to introduce to each other, and we were delighted to see Krissy and Tony at the top of his list!
These two were instant friends, as bouncy Tony could handle Krissy’s sassy nature! Soon after settling in, our wonderful client returned to meet sweet and gentle Milo our huge German Shepherd Dog!
Tony and Milo played and played as though they had been friends for years!
And off Milo also went, to join Krissy and Tony in their huge, spacious, and calm farm life. The feedback is that these three are constantly playing and having a ball running around.
What a happy ending for three dogs!
It was a happy day when two of our sweet female cross breeds both found forever homes!
Sapphire and Milly (aka Tux) both found their perfect partners!
Sapphire
Stunning blue-eyed Sapphire was found as a stray running around at the Waterfront. After some public detective work, it was established she had belonged to a homeless person who had chosen to abandon her.
A lovely member of the public brought her to us for safety. She was very nervous in the beginning and struggled to settle.
With the assistance of her wonderful networker, we were so happy when her wonderful family came along! This bright girl now has a dog pal to play with and enjoys her daily walks. She loves to play ball and loves squeaky toys and playing a game of chase.
Milly (a.k.a. Tux)
Another celebration included the adoption day for Milly (aka Tux) who was also found as a stray and never claimed. Soon after her new dad met her, we could see the bond was instant!
Milly is now enjoying her naps, being tucked in, and even getting some BBQ chicken takeaways when her dad can’t resist her sweet face!
Featured on Facebook way back in January as our “Name the Newbie” star, our hearts are bursting with joy that she has finally found her happy ending.
Just look at those goofy grins!
Our sweet and sensitive Puddles went home to join her maltese sister named Bubbles! So now Puddles (now Cuddles) and her bestie Bubbles are an inseparable two-some! Dear Dorris also left for her perfect retirement home! Winter the peke found a fabulous home with an older yorkie to keep him company! Baxter also found a great home!
We had some lovely updates come in from our giant Rottie Johnny, who popped in to say hi, and Sweet Ariel also sent us joyful updates of her first beach visit.
Sky and Pablo clearly love cuddling together in bed.
Handsome Hunter popped in to remind us to wear our winter pj’s while Hugo popped in to say hi and show us how much he is loving his farm life!
Our adorable Willempie sent us some more updates on how happy he is, one year after adoption!
Adorable Pugsley also sent us an update of him napping in his new family member’s arms.
What lucky dogs!
Even sweet Casper popped in to say hi and even found himself a new SPCA sister. Watch for next week’s updates to see him and his sweet sister!
Chalky, Charlie, and Carey all rared to rush off to their new homes.
Baby Bear has also found himself a wonderful home, after sister Polar went home a short while ago.
Tiny fluff-ball Max also waltzed off, proud and pleased as punch while walking with his leash in his mouth to his new home.
We also saw Enyi’s wonderful family return a few weeks after adopting her, to come and adopt sweet Bongi. Enyi is clearly a happy girl and has welcomed Bongi in with open arms!
Our beautiful duo Claude and Pluto sent us a beautiful photo of their favourite spot in the house – the couch! These two have their own little human who loves and spoils them. These sweet cats are lucky to be so loved.
We had the lovely Lulu go to her loving new family, and our gentleman Bill also found himself the most wonderful home.
Our other little ball of fluff, Twiggy was lucky enough to find herself a wonderful home with our very own Randal! Randal and his wonderful family, including doggy sister Goofy, have welcomed Twiggy in with open arms!
Blossie, Manfred and Apple are also all snuggled up in their new warm homes!
