Twinkles is one of those animals. When Inspector Siyabonga rescued him from the streets – where he’d been dumped like rubbish – he was skinny, weak, and terrified.
Pets suffer deep trauma when they’re abandoned. Whether dumped on the road or left alone at a vacant property, abandoning a pet says: “I don’t want you. I don’t love you. I don’t care if you live or die.”
