A recent visit to Mrs. Yande’s Cape Nature Farms revealed some distressing conditions. 16 three-day-old piglets were shivering in the cold, damp bedding, making it difficult for them to sleep.
But thankfully our heroes Carla Bourne & Jeandre Shaw from Bamberry Steel Storage in Crawford came to the rescue with wood shavings and 16 little piglets survived a cold night.
By promoting compassion for animals while also supporting emerging farmers with knowledge and resources, the SPCA’s mission not only improves animal welfare but also brings about economic upliftment within local communities, fostering sustainable development and prosperity.
We are as much a people’s organisation as an animal organisation. It’s with thanks to the financial backing of Welttierschutzgesellschaft e.V. (WTG), a Germany-based, registered non-profit organisation, that we can do this important work that brings animals and people closer together.
Who would’ve thought a donation of wood shavings would turn you into a hero for animals. Donations like these can be lifesaving!
