The Book Sale That Saves Lives

Canal Walk Books for Bandages

Every day, around 150 animals arrive at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA’s Animal Hospital in Grassy Park, in desperate need of healing. For all these animals, whether they are stray or loved by owners who are struggling to make ends meet, our hospital is their last and only hope.  We believe that every animal deserves the chance to live a healthy life, regardless of their circumstances but our commitment to these animals comes at a significant cost. Last year, our hospital incurred a loss of R5.1M. This level of financial strain is not sustainable, and we need your help to keep our hospital’s doors open.

Our Animal Hospital in Grassy Park needs your help!

13-14 animals arrive at our doors every hour

Our Animal Hospital in Grassy Park sees thousands of animals each year, with 13-14 animals arriving at our doors every hour. Our dedicated veterinarians perform an astonishing 15-20 surgeries in a single day, addressing critical needs, providing life-saving treatments, and preventing cruelty before it starts with an aggressive pet sterilisation focus. No animal admitted to our facilities for treatment leaves unsterilised.
