Help your athlete raise their fundraising goal for the animals of the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.
The Cape of Good Hope SPCA’s Animal Hospital is the largest of its kind in the Western Cape.
Our hospital is committed to promoting animal welfare, preventing animal overpopulation, and ensuring access to quality veterinary care in under resourced communities. And our services are in high demand!
There are seven hospital wards containing 205 care cages, four outpatients’ consulting rooms, two operating theatres, x-ray facilities, an equipment sterilisation room – in addition to a vaccination and microchipping clinic.
Consists of reception staff; Animal Welfare Assistants, Orderlies, Animal Health Technicians and Animal Nurse and Vets.
During the last financial year, our animal hospital saw a total of 48,223 patients move through our doors. This translates to an average of 132 clinical cases seen per day, or 16.5 animals receiving care every hour.
Our organisation operates 4 Mobile Clinics that deliver primary veterinary care to the heart of communities in need. Via this service, an additional 16,583 animals received timely, essential veterinary treatment regardless of their owners’ financial situations.
5,523 animals were sterilised at our hospital last year making a significant contribution to animal health via humane pet population control.
There’s no doubt that our hospital serves as a lifeline for disadvantaged pet owners.
By providing preventative veterinary treatments and emergency services at welfare rates, we ensure that even those facing financial constraints can access essential healthcare for their beloved pets.
The Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon is scheduled to take place on the 5th (ultra) and 6th (half) of April 2025.
