Anti-cruelty includes Anti-dogfighting

A newly established team that tackles dogfighting and deals with dog attacks on people and animals, consists of City Law Enforcement Animal Control Officers, Cape of Good Hope SPCA Inspectors and members of the Safety and Security Investigations Unit.

One of its first initiatives was hosting awareness activities in Ocean View during March, when the Team distributed educational materials to residents, who could also bring their pets along for essential pet care services.

It’s a crime to be involved with dog fighting in any manner. This includes owning, keeping, training, breeding or betting on animals – or even watching a fight.
