Howard Warrington’s 196th, 7.4 KM swim from Robben Island to Blouberg wasn’t without its challenges.
Despite relatively fair sea and weather conditions, Howard had to dig deep from the start, feeling the strain as fatigue and muscle niggles set in.
” I had to keep telling myself that the brain controls the reins while the body strains,” says Howard, “but this one hurt!”
The effort of 196 gruelling swims completed so far is taking it’s toll but Howard’s not giving up.
Spoken like a true champion he says “I’ll rest after 200” .

Howard will soon be the first person in the world to swim from Robben Island to Blouberg 200 times and he’s not just making history, he’s saving lives along the way.
Meet Charlie
Charlie was found wandering the streets as a stray, with a rope deeply embedded in his neck. It is a horrific, purulent and strangulating wound that encircles the entire circumference of his neck. Charlie needs help and like every injured, stray animal, we are his only hope! Howard is raising funds to save animals like Charlie! Make a splash of your own with your donation made here.
