Along the spectacular routes, you will be able take in the famous natural beauty of Cape Town’s mountains and sea – all the places our Wildlife call home. The 5KM & 10KM Peace Runs will be virtual so you can participate along your favourite routes, no matter where you are in the world. Runners who sign up get access to the marathon’s free virtual App so you can experience advanced live GPS tracking, a global leader board, and the vibe of a real race through the app’s dynamic 3D audio that will make you feel like you’re running in the heart of the Mother City.
The Cape’s wildlife are continually under threat. Certain animal species are in conflict with humans, some are exploited for financial gain, threatened by natural disasters and urban sprawl and others, hunted for sport and recreation.
The Cape of Good Hope SPCA Wildlife Department serves a critical role in mitigating this threat by responding to reports of displaced, injured and sick wildlife and investigating reports of cruelty to wild animals. We are committed to our credo that wild animals belong in the wild and our team works to also bring and end to the illegal keeping, import and sale of exotic animals as pets.
Albert Einstein once said, ‘Our task must be to free ourselves… by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.’ The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon gives you the opportunity to do just this because all funds raised will be going towards our work with wild animals! Plus you get to do it in this awesome branded running shirt!
Pay a deposit of R100 to secure your spot and agree to fundraise an additional:
