On Friday, Howard and Elmarie lost their beloved fur-child Lucy, who had faced many health challenges over the years. Thankfully, Howard had the means to provide Lucy with the best possible care throughout her life.
“Many animals aren’t so lucky,” Howard says. “The Cape of Good Hope SPCA is doing all they can, but they need help. Please open your hearts. They need our financial support.”
Broertjie was admitted to our Animal Hospital in a lethargic state, he was anemic and he was vomiting. He need help, and he needed it fast!
It was hard to see a grown man cry for a dog who he calls “Little Brother” which really said all we needed to know about how he feels about him. Broertjie went home today, to his owner Kirk who loves him, thanks to Howard and your support.
May it be a comfort to Howard and Elmarie to know that Lucy lives on through Broertjie and every animal we can save thanks to his brave efforts.
Howard is swimming not just for a record but to ensure that every stray animal in need of help, and every cherished pet whose owner can’t afford their care, has a chance at life.
