Meet Melvin George – CoGH SPCA Mobile Clinic Operator
Melvin mans one of the 3 Cape of Good Hope SPCA Mobile Clinics that take to the road daily, providing customers with his very own brand of compassion and kindness to pets in local communities.
His passion and commitment to his work comes from a deep love of animals, along with a desire to prevent suffering via the provision of primary veterinary treatments and general pet care education.
Melvin is a familiar face in local areas and always has a friendly smile on his face no matter the day.
Proving that his love for animals truly runs deep, Melvin has competed in the Two Oceans Marathon to raise funds for the Cape of Good Hope SPCA’s Anti-Dog-Fighting campaign.
In October 2022, Melvin has rallied his full team of Mobile Unit staff to run the Sanlam Peace Run in an effort to raise funds for the SPCA Mobile Units.
Melvin and his team provides pet owners from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with limited financial means with a range of services that includes dipping, de-worming, vaccinations, sterilisation and general medical care. Those pets that are to be spayed or neutered, ill or injured are transported to our Animal Hospital for further treatment and returned to their owners afterwards.
