Break a Chain… Set Them Free

Reading progress

Trooper broke free of whatever she had been chained to and fled to the streets searching for food . . . still dragging the chain around her neck. She was chained up as a puppy and had never been unchained again and so her chain had grown into her skin, causing a deep, raw wound that encircled her neck.

She was also starving . . . but this is what saved her. Her hunger forced her to struggle and pull at her restraints. It must’ve hurt so much, but no doubt the hunger pains were worse and Trooper’s fighting spirit was stronger!

When I see Trooper now, my heart overflows with thanks for people like you who keep our Inspectors on the roads and our doors open with your support.

Because, without it, thousands of animals would suffer and die, many right on the spot they’re chained to.

Not a day goes by that one of our Inspectors doesn’t have to stop and educate a pet owner, issue a warning in respect of improving an animal’s welfare or confiscate a neglected and injured animal like Trooper.

Recently, there has been a 24% increase in the amount of animals in need of our help. We expect this need to continue escalating as the full financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is felt. We need to be ready with full fuel tanks, qualified Inspectors, catch poles, leashes and well maintained vans and cages so that we can respond to the many animals that need us now more than ever.

Your support is critical to keeping our Inspectors on the roads so that they can respond to animals in crisis and take punitive action wherever necessary. We believe that those who are cruel to animals must stand accountable for their crimes.

Will you donate to give animals a voice in a court of law today?

A home free of chains and full of love!

It’s because you care that Trooper is now healthy and whole. It’s because you support us that Trooper will never know hunger or pain again. It’s because of you that Trooper does more than just survive – she really lives! And she lives with a family that knows that pets are valuable, irreplaceable and a privilege to share our lives with.

Your donation made now, will ensure that many dogs like Trooper get to really live! To experience life in comfort and love.

We’re working harder than before and we’re witnessing more suffering than before. It’s been a really difficult time for us but we know that we can do anything with friends like you who walk beside us. Thank you for believing and investing in a kinder, more compassionate world for animals. Your donations make a very real difference, please support us today with a life-saving gift now so that we can continue to fight for the many dogs like Trooper.
