Dog Fighting is a Crime

Reading progress

Do you know what a ‘bait’ dog is? It’s usually a stolen pet that’s used to taunt or test a fighting dog’s mettle – with bloody, brutal consequences. If you don’t want to hear any more but do want to help stop the scourge of dog fighting, please support us through your donation made below!

Dog Fighting Must Stop!

For a bait dog that was once part of a family, the end result is a terrifying, traumatic death ….. but one German shepherd crossbreed refused to die like that.

Diamonds bravely defended himself in a fight that was meant to kill him. He only had three legs, after all.

Furious that Diamonds had defended himself, the pit bull’s owner broke Diamond’s only remaining back leg in spite. That wasn’t just cruel, it was sadistic.

It hasn’t been easy … two operations, time and many caring hands have helped Diamonds to heal. But for every dog like Diamonds, there are dozens who don’t make it out of the underworld of dog fighting. That’s why we need you to support our work against this violent abuse.

We can’t win the war against dog fighting without you.

SPCA ANTI-DOG-FIGHTING UNIT

Dog fighting is an inhumane blood-sport where dogs, who have been bred, conditioned and trained to fight, are pitted against each other to fight. In most cases dog fights are for spectator entertainment and financial gain. Dog fighting is a thriving underground crime that may be happening in your community without you even knowing about it! Most dogs that are used for fighting live a miserable life where they are kept chained or caged in poor living conditions for most of their lives.

Medinox sponsors the Cape of Good Hope SPCA by covering the salary of one full-time Inspector in Cape Town, who is dedicated to fighting the dog fighting cause.
