Despite his regal name, King’s life was far from royal…. In fact he wasn’t even treated like a living, breathing, feeling being.
He was seized by our Inspectors earlier this month and taken into the care of the Cape of Good Hope SPCA on a court order secured at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court. King was limping on a badly injured front leg, and his owner’s couldn’t have cared less. At our animal hospital, our veterinary team x-rayed King’s leg and to their horror, also found a pellet lodged deep in his thorax. King’s leg has since healed well, and he is now weight-bearing on all four limbs. He still has a long way to go, he has obvious scars and the kind we can’t see but we’re doing our best to make him feel every bit like the King he is.Love dogs like King back to health!
