We weren’t expecting a visit to the police station to open a case of animal cruelty against an offender to be a prelude to a heart-warming affair – but that is exactly what it was.
While we were there, a homeless man entered with a tiny puppy tucked into his jacket. He’d found little Scout in a bush and wanting to ensure the little one received proper care, brought him to the police station seeking help. This unsung hero’s actions ensured Scout’s safety and now, this adorable pup is safe and warm at the SPCA.
Scout was initially treated for a runny tummy but has since been well enough to receive his first vaccinations and now he needs a home. Despite all the toys and other comforts we’ve provided, Scout really needs a person. A special someone to be his very own guardian, to keep him company, love him and teach him all he needs to know about becoming the goodest big boy!

We’re extremely thankful to the homeless man who despite his own hardship, showed scout true compassion and took the time to ensure his safety and warmth. We salute this man and every other person whose hearts can’t ignore the cries of an animal in distress. Thank you, Sir!
