To our incredible community of supporters, Thank You!
We’re thrilled to bring you this update on Tyson and Lucy, who just over a month ago were suffering in conditions of terrible neglect and cruelty.
Read their full story here.
Tyson was emaciated and weighed only 30kg on admission (instead of the breed typical average of 55kg), and was living a life of deprivation on a chain while Lucy had an untreated ear infection.
It’s thanks to your support that they were met with open arms, skilled veterinary care, and all the love they deserved at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.
“They’ve gained physical condition beautifully but it’s really the light in their eyes they made me cry happy tears.” said Inspector Davids.
“I’m so grateful to our donors who not only made their recovery possible but also gave me renewed strength to keep up the fight against animal cruelty”.
Lucy will soon be heading to her new home where she’ll never know suffering again.
Gentle giant Tyson is ready for his forever family and he’s waiting patiently to bring his big heart to a loving home.
Please let us know if you could love Tyson by calling 0217004152 or send an email to adoptions@spca-ct.co.za.
Tyson and Lucy’s recovery is a beautiful victory, but our work is far from over. The criminal case against the SAPS officer responsible for their neglect is ongoing, and Inspector Davids won’t rest until justice is served, no matter how many trips to court it takes.
