Laugh, Walk, and Make a Difference at the SPCA Woefie Wandel Dog Walk and Pet Fair
Bring your energy, bring your pets, and bring your best laugh! Join us at Green Point Park on November 17, 2024, for Woefie Wandel—the biggest dog walk and pet fair in Cape Town, proudly sponsored by Absolute Pets. With South Africa’s top comedian, Kurt Schoonraad, as emcee, expect a day of joy and laughter, all in support of a serious cause – the 23,621 unwanted and unloved animals who entered the SPCA’s care last year.
Walk with Purpose – Support Animals Awaiting Forever Homes
“Take the long (1.9 km) or short (1.2 km) walk, it doesn’t matter which! Just walk, for the unloved, the unwanted and every animal still waiting for a family at the SPCA” says Belinda Abraham, spokesperson for the Cape of Good Hope SPCA. “It’s a day to celebrate your pets and with Kurt Schoonraad as emcee, you’ll be laughing all the way to the finish line while raising awareness for something that’s no laughing matter. One unloved dog is one too many but 23 621 is a crisis”.
Your participation in the walkathon is a stand for love, safety, care and the hope of a home for every animal.
Funds from ticket sales will go directly toward shelter, food, medical care and rehoming costs for every unwanted and unloved animal that awaits a home at the SPCA.
Fun Activities for the Whole Family
Woefie Wandel is packed with fun activities and treats for everyone:
- A mini funfair for kids, complete with games and activities.
- The Absolute Pets Pop-up Shop will cater for everything your pet’s heart desires. There will be an incredible range of new pet products and items, holiday specials and a mini pet spa (for a brush-down, nail clipping, de-shedding, and ear cleaning), as well as an onsite Tag Me station for personalised pet tags made while you wait.
- Food trucks will offer a variety of festival style foods.
- There will be plenty of fun pet competitions with amazing prizes and giveaways throughout the day.
- Exclusive goodie bags are up for grabs for the first 500 registrants, and they’re choc-a-block with surprises for both pets and owners.
