Nine dogs confiscated in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain

Reading progress

Cape of Good Hope SPCA Inspectorate together with Law Enforcement Animal Control Unit rescued nine dogs from dogfighting in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain.

Chief Inspector Jaco Pieterse and Inspector Mark Syce were on the scene. Our team obtained a court order after an anonymous tip-off with video evidence was received.

Inspectors found dogs on short static chains. Some dogs have deep tissue scaring, a clear indication of dogfighting. Inspectors also discovered backyard breeding taking place.
This is a developing story, we will provide a full update in due course.

Please donate towards the care and treatment of these dogs
All the confiscated dogs are now on route to the SPCA animal hospital for veterinary assessment and treatment.

Special thank you to the Law Enforcement Animal Control unit who are always supportive of the cause.
