Tails Up Lottery Winner Frances Barrett is January’s Rising Star

Reading progress

Frances Barrett, a resident of Noordhoek was left feeling somewhat starstruck when she received a call to inform her she has become The Cape of Good Hope SPCA’s next Rising Star.

Frances first joined the Rising Stars Tails Up Lottery in 2012.  She has been a donor since the early 2000s and owns five dogs.

“Can’t believe I could be so lucky to win. I guess it just goes to show that you have to be in it to win it “

Rising Stars Tails Up Club convener Greta Marz says the random selected winning ticket was confirmed by BDO Auditor, Sbuyiselo Mshengu before Frances Barrett was informed of the outcome. The lucky winner was notified by telephone.

“Terribly lucky as I had been a member for quite some time  before my first lucky win”

Frances shared the following message to all animal lovers:

“Don’t forget to treat your animals as family members as that’s what they are – not something to discard when they get old or when that puppy has grown into an adult and is no longer that cuddly furry creature.”

Congratulations, Frances!
